Russian Federation General Persecutor Yury Chaika visiting the Russian Necropolis at the New Cemetery in Belgrade


On October 16, 2018, the delegation of the Russian Federation Prosecutor's Office headed by the General Prosecutor Yury Chaika visited the "Russian Necropolis" at the New Cemetery in Belgrade. The General Prosecutor was accompanied by Ms. Zagorka Dolovac, Public Prosecutor of the Republic of Serbia.

Upon the completed requiem service at the Russian Ossuary and laying flowers, the delegation visited the Chapel devoted to Iverska Virgin and was able to hear the story on the history of the Russian emigrant community in Serbia from Vitaly Tarasyev, Head of the Moscow Patriarchate Representation in Serbia. The representative of the Public Utility Company „Funeral Services", presented the "Guide through the New Cemetery" in Russian to our distinguished guest, in addition to the information leaflet on some of the most significant Kazaks and Russian Military Commanders buried at the New Cemetery of Belgrade.

The General Persecutor and members of the delegation, visited and laid flowers on the final resting places of Kazaks and other Russian imperial officers buried at this location.
